This was a bit of television history that I was honored to play a small part in.
I was the gaffer and one of the camera operators in the studio for a raucous hour of unhinged comedy with Stephen Colbert and his incredible team of writers, producers, and technicians coming in from New York.
I’m proud of my contributions to this set, and you can hear me laughing, frequently, because the show is funny. As one of a half dozen people in the “audience” I had a front row seat to the talent Colbert honed going back to Second City and through decades on Comedy Central. I have no unique insight into what his next steps are, but this small glimpse of watching him work in a down and dirty broom closet studio makes me optimistic that his best work is yet to come.
